DTF Printing in Salt Lake City, Utah
Salt Lake City DTF printing for shirts, hoodies, hats, and more. No minimums. Fast turnaround.
We print DTF in-house, which means tighter quality control and faster turnaround than shops that send orders out to a third party. You get consistent results, not a box that arrives from somewhere else and may or may not match what you approved.
One shirt or one hundred, we can do it. That’s one of the real advantages of DTF over screen printing. If you need five shirts for a small team or a dozen as event giveaways, you don’t need to order more than you want just to make the math work.
DTF handles designs that screen printing struggles with, like gradients, photographic detail, designs with 10, 15, or 20+ colors. The ink bonds directly to the fabric through a heat transfer process, so you get sharp, vibrant results across the whole design. No weeding. No screen setup.
DTF transfers bond to cotton, polyester, blends, nylon, and most other materials. It also works on dark garments without the extra steps or cost that other printing methods require. If you’re ordering shirts in multiple colors, DTF handles the whole run without adjustment.
JC Pro Design has worked with these brands and more.
DTF stands for direct to film. The process starts with your design printed onto a special PET film using water-based acrylic inks. An adhesive powder is applied to the back of that print, then cured. That creates a transfer that can be applied to almost any fabric with heat.
When the transfer is pressed onto your garment and the carrier film is peeled away, the design bonds to the fabric with fine detail and full color. The result looks and feels different from screen printing. It’s a bit more like a traditional heat transfer, but for the right type of job, it’s the better option.
The honest tradeoff: on very large runs with simple designs and few colors, screen printing will typically come out ahead on cost and feel. If you’re not sure which method fits your project, reach out and we’ll tell you straight.
The most common use case. You have a business logo, and you want it on shirts for your team, your customers, or a company event. DTF handles full-color logos, even complex ones, without setup fees or minimum order pressure. Polos, t-shirts, zip-ups and whatever garment you want your logo on, we can print it.
Small runs for events, volunteer groups, sports teams, or staff uniforms work well with local DTF printing. You can order exactly the quantity you need without padding the order to meet a screen print minimum.
Trade shows, grand openings, customer appreciation events. Custom DTF t-shirt printing is a practical option when you need custom apparel in smaller quantities that still needs to look sharp. Full-color designs hold up the same way larger runs do.
If your design has a gradient, a photograph, or a high color count, screen printing gets expensive fast since you pay per color per screen. DTF prints the whole design in one pass regardless of color count. That changes the economics significantly for the right job.
Every order runs through in-house quality checks before they go out. The detail and color you see in your proof is what you get on your garment.
We’ll tell you when DTF is the right call and when it isn’t. If screen printing, embroidery, or another method makes more sense for your project, we’ll say so. We’d rather give you the right recommendation than take an order that won’t serve you well.
Salt Lake City businesses often need apparel on a tight timeline. Because we print in-house, we don’t depend on outside vendors for the print production step. That keeps turnaround times shorter and gives us more control when you’re up against a deadline.
Tell us about your project, including what you want printed, on what garment, in what quantity. We’ll give you a straight quote based on your actual specs.

How is DTF different from screen printing?
Screen printing pushes ink through a mesh screen, one color at a time. It’s cost-effective for large runs with simple designs. DTF prints your full design onto a film and heat-transfers it to the garment in a single pass. That makes it better for small runs, complex artwork, and designs with many colors. The feel is slightly different — screen printing has a softer feel on the fabric. DTF is a better fit when the design complexity or quantity makes screen printing less practical.
Is there a minimum order for DTF printing?
No. You can order one shirt or one hundred. DTF doesn’t require you to meet a quantity threshold to make the economics work, unlike screen printing which has setup costs that only pay off above a certain quantity.
What file formats do you need for DTF printing?
Vector files like AI or EPS work best for logos and artwork. High-resolution PNG files (300 dpi or higher) also work well. If you’re not sure whether your file will print cleanly, send it over and we’ll take a look before you commit.
How long does DTF printing take?
Turnaround depends on your order size and current queue. Most standard orders are completed within two weeks. If you’re working against a specific deadline, let us know up front and we’ll tell you what’s realistic.
What garments can you print on with DTF?
DTF works on cotton, polyester, cotton-poly blends, nylon, and most other common fabric types. It also prints cleanly on dark-colored garments. If you have a specific material or garment brand in mind, mention it when you reach out and we’ll confirm compatibility.
How does DTF compare to embroidery?
Embroidery is stitched directly into the fabric, so it has a textured, three-dimensional feel. It’s a strong option for polo shirts, hats, and more formal work apparel. DTF is better for detailed artwork, photography-style designs, or anything with a high color count. We offer both, so if you’re weighing the two, we can help you decide based on your specific project.
Can I order DTF prints on garments I supply?
In most cases, yes. Reach out with details about the garments you’re working with and we’ll let you know if there are any compatibility considerations.
